If you were going to do any track driving, i would say go 1LE. But you want straight line and you're going to go FI? Gen 3 coyote will handle 800whp all day on stock internals.
It's not just at the track, the 11 to 17 gear ratios were just more fun in every day traffic or spirited back roads. With the 18+ you get to go from 2nd to 3rd on most back roads and stay there.
Having driven a 7speed 911 and a 7 speed C7, it works very well. 5 gears is definitely not enough. It would be great if they had the same ratio spread but make 5th 1 to 1 again and then still allow 2 over drive gears for highway cruising.
