The tick in your video does not sound like itās correlated with engine speed like the 5.0 tick is. Sound is somewhat similar but doesnāt sound mechanical the way the 5.0 is. The cadence/rhythm is not at all similar.
It wonāt. There have been a lot of people have the ticking return shortly after getting a new short or long block.
My ā18 has it. First noticed it at about 1300 miles on the factory oil. Iāve decided not to worry about it or let it ruin my experience with this car for the time being. Going to...
I think in a lot of these cases where the dealership is eventually diagnosing it as a bearing failure that theyāre basically just making it up to justify the short block replacement to Ford. I was a dealership mechanic at one point (now fleet mechanic) and that happened often. Thereās an issue...
UOA (used oil analysis) is a common and cheap way to check for fuel dilution and Iām sure many members here have had them performed. I havenāt seen any alarm bells going off about fuel dilution. Plus, if this was an issue with Fordās oil selection, then the issue would be MUCH worse on their...
Those numbers are similar to the FRP for the 15-17 GT. The appeal of these packages is more about the large bump in low end torque, not peak numbers, and this Roush package looks to add about 40 ft/lb down low according to their dyno chart.
What does this mean? Do you mean 100psi and 200psi? If you have low compression on one cylinder then stop messing around with anything injector or ignition related and fix the mechanical issue first (ring/piston or valvetrain related most likely).
Not sure if spam...
This forum is specific to 2015-2019 mustangs. If youāre looking for help Iād suggest finding a forum specific to your generation of mustang.
It also could just be that the ac puts a small load on the engine which effects the ticking. Are you auto or manual? If manual you could try keeping the ebrake on in first gear and just barely let the clutch out at idle until thereās a slight drag and see if it effects the ticking in the same...
Seems like if that hose was loose enough to be leaking air and causing your chirping noise, then it would have been loose enough to have just blown right off the barb at some point. Definitely worth fixing even if itās not the cause though.
Watching this thread with interest... If I had the time and resources I think Iād pull the head and send it off for port/polish and stage 2 cams. Then Iād add the Precision drop-in turbo and get tuned. I feel like it would make for a very efficient setup that would make good power with...
The oil life monitor doesnāt monitor the oil. Itās an algorithm based on time, miles, average speed, temperature, etc. You could fill your engine with crude oil right out of the ground and the oil life meter would decline at the exact same rate as $20/qt boutique brand.
