  1. Anyone using Girodisc's rotors on their GT350?

Honestly, can't tell the difference. Have used the OEM 2019 smooth version and now the Girodisc frozen rotors version and both are good. It looks like White Bear Lake Ford has the 2019 oem smooth at $217 each, which is the way I'd go.
  2. What are some common pain points on cars that see track duty?

Took some convincing, but yes, they will be replacing under warranty.
  3. What are some common pain points on cars that see track duty?

I had the same problem while on a track day. A close inspection of the composite oil pan found that the plastic tabs on the inside of the pain were completely missing. I could feel where the plastic was a bit rough in the areas where they were supposed to be located. Only conclusion is that...
  4. Rare problem: 5th/6th gear bucking/surging and cruise control not working

They didn't tear town the transmission, just replaced it - so no way to know the exact point of failure. I can report the hesitation seems to be resolved!
  5. Vroom appraisal?

I've used Autonation with success. Beat all the others noted by quite a bit.
  6. Rare problem: 5th/6th gear bucking/surging and cruise control not working

Just off the phone with the service manager. They are replacing the tranny as well as the intake manifold. Hoping either or both of those items finally resolves.
  7. Rare problem: 5th/6th gear bucking/surging and cruise control not working

Quick update to report this problem continues. Have tried to run at Daytona now three separate events and all result in the hesitation problem, including check engine light flashing and then staying on with misfire codes. Ford repair attempts now include spark plugs, coil packs, crank speed...
  8. GT350 VS GT500

Here's some straights and turns (full disclaimer - not an apples to apples comparison) :
  9. Tow Hooks - ZL1 Version

Quick update on actual functionality of the tow hook. Unfortunately, have required a tow two times now, both at Daytona. I have the tow strap attached and the tow operators were obviously very experienced there as they took great care to avoid causing any damage. The first time was a tow...
  10. '19 GT350 engine replacement

Hey Tom. They don't seem to be available in FL. I am looking for the ESP in FL, any suggestions? I'm guessing there is some regulatory enforced requirement that causes the FL pricing to be +30% over non-FL. Am looking for the 8 year / 48k miles or so. Thanks.
  11. List of changes to the 2019 GT350

Solid info. Thanks. Recently spent two days thrashing a C7 Z06 around Daytona. It had the carbon ceramics and whoa, what stopping ability. Making me rethink the AP set up.
  12. List of changes to the 2019 GT350

Does anyone know if there is there any chance on getting the ABS re-calibration completed on a 2018 model? Mostly love the brakes on track just wish there was just a bit more bite at the limit. Threshold braking can become just an exercise in managing the ABS engagement, even in track mode...
  13. Rare problem: 5th/6th gear bucking/surging and cruise control not working

The drive train vibration was noticeable in all situations, even at idle. I believe they diagnosed through process of elimination (removed accessory belt to rule out ac compressor, etc.). The tech only said that he believed the clutch started coming apart, which threw the dual mass flywheel...
  14. Rare problem: 5th/6th gear bucking/surging and cruise control not working

Ok, am hoping I've finally and fully solved the hesitation issue, although came at a price. Was running the car at this year's Audi Club event at Daytona Dec 11-13. 2nd session of first day. As was going through start/finish at full throttle in 5th (as normal), felt something in the...
  15. 350R preferred over the CFTP??

The white one in the garage next to me said he had about 1-2 gallons remaining after a 30 minute session. It was his first time there so don't believe he was even going full out for the entire session. This is a known issue that others have reported elsewhere.
  16. 350R preferred over the CFTP??

One other thing to consider is that the 350 goes through about 10 gallons in a 30 minute session at Daytona, while I believe the 500 is not really able to complete a full 30 minute session. It's one thirsty beast.
  17. 350R preferred over the CFTP??

I would agree that 'faster' does not mean better, or even more enjoyable. Two different machines going about it it in similar, but different ways. Here is recent Daytona outing, which highlights the differences.
  18. Rare problem: 5th/6th gear bucking/surging and cruise control not working

Here is another thread that seems related. Black Boss is a respected Ford authority and also had pedal switch failure. I'll see him at Daytona in December so will be sure to bring up this problem to see if he has any additional insight...
  19. Rare problem: 5th/6th gear bucking/surging and cruise control not working

Not sure as Max just replaced. Looks like might be FL3Z-13480-A but would get that confirmed.
