I have my 2016 R (black on black) for sale for US$89,500. Under 500 miles with electronics pack. Car is mint. Listed on Hemmings, but my cell is 1-403-589-2468 if interested.
It can be done. When the fx rate is a large difference, dealers were moving their new vehicles down to the US all the time, but the automakers cracked down on the Canadian dealers, so not sure if the dealer can make the sale directly to a US purchaser. Even now Canadian dealers are calling...
I have enjoyed the older cars, but if you are going to do it, have to do it with eyes open. Maintenance costs are higher and a different driving experience. Cars are hot, rough (especially on polyglass tires), and you smell like exhaust at the end of the day - let's say my wife is not a fan...
Thanks jwhite. You have a nice pair as well. I just have one restoration to go and garage will be set - the 1970 Torino 429CJ 4 speed my dad bought new when he was 19.
This is mine. Two completely different driving experiences, but both are a lot of fun. Besides the width, the cars are quite close in dimensions:

Loaded my R (with spoiler on) into an enclosed 20 foot trailer - nerve racking but with help, the right equipment and finding a good location for the trailer, it can be done. Wanted to strap it down using over the wheel straps, but just no room in the trailer to do so, so ended up using soft...
My dealer in Alberta, which bills itself as one of the biggest sellers of Mustangs in Canada, received 3 R allocations for 2016, and for 2017 received just 1, so who knows.
From a Canadian production standpoint, on R's anyways, my dealer which bills itself as one of the biggest SVT dealers in Canada, got 3 R allocations for 2016 and 1 for 2017.
Am picking up my R on the week of May 3 and have normal curved curb on my driveway, but just questioning the ride height with the spoiler on the R and whether I should be investing in a driveway curb ramp - my city has banned them - but am likely to invest in one anyways.
Not true, if you phone Ford they will tell you that warranty is still valid in the US. If there is an issue it may be that the Canadian dealer may not want to sell to US purchaser, for fear of what the response may be from Ford.
Ordered three weeks ago today, so given how long some in the forums appear to have been waiting, can't complain - can't drive the car in March / April in Calgary anyways.
Dealer told me today it was pushed by a month.
