  1. GTD application halted

Based on my personal experience, yes, that is that they did.
  2. GTD application halted

Yes, when they decided to make more, I received another invitation to reapply. I did not. I was too annoyed by the refusal the first time around and had decided on the McLaren. In my humble opinion, the 720S has more performance than the Ford GT for 2/3 of the price. But hey, that's just me...
  3. GTD application halted

The Ford GT application made it very, very clear that you couldn't flip the car for two years.
  4. GTD application halted

I let my daughter drive it and when she came back, she said, "Dad, that car is stupid fast!" My son, who has a GT350R, says it gives him vertigo when he nails the throttle. I love it. It's an amazing car. Especially the way it gets the power to the ground with two wheels. Had it since new...
  5. GTD application halted

I had a similar experience when it came to ordering the new Ford GT. I described my ownership of Fords since I was 14, showed my track experience, sent a video of me and my race Pantera on the track, how I drove all my cars, went to car shows and... no 'influencer' experience. I was refused. I...
  6. S550 2020-2023 Brake fluid sensor recall

The technician that came to my house actually asked if I had a tune. I replied truthfully 'no' and didn't pursue it further. I did have the double horn honk disabled and the update reset that, as I expected. FWIW, Kirby
  7. S550 2020-2023 Brake fluid sensor recall

Ford sent a technician to my house today and flashed the BCM for this recall.. Good to go.
  8. Hub and Caliper bolts - One time use bolts?

I struggle with this concept of torque to yield on the caliper bolts. They are screwed into aluminum hubs, right?... I have the studs and like them. Continuously screwing bolts into aluminum makes me nervous. Too easy to gall the threads; even strip them. Also, changing pads is easy. FWIW
  9. Ford extended warranty questions.

I renewed my 2020 GT350R earlier this year to a total of 8 years for $3035 through my local Ford dealer. FWIW, Kirby
  10. 2020 GT350 GT350R VIN Spreadsheet Thread

My mistake. Clicked on the wrong tab. Car is located in Magnolia, TX.

  12. MMR Engine Block / Bellhousing Braces for Shelby GT350/R 5.2

Sorry, but I don't understand, if that is a question.
  13. MMR Engine Block / Bellhousing Braces for Shelby GT350/R 5.2

I did consider that. The hole in the bell housing is much bigger than the slot in the bracket. It'd mean a small bolt in a large hole. A solution I thought about this morning (like you're suggesting) was to make a short bracket extension which bolts to the bell housing hole and then put a bolt...
  14. MMR Engine Block / Bellhousing Braces for Shelby GT350/R 5.2

Got the Pantera off the lift and put the GT350R back on it to change to track wheels and tires. Here's the pics of the braces installed with my tywrap solutions.
  15. MMR Engine Block / Bellhousing Braces for Shelby GT350/R 5.2

I knew I should have done that.... but it is off the lift and another car is on the lift. I'll see what I can do in the next few days.
  16. MMR Engine Block / Bellhousing Braces for Shelby GT350/R 5.2

Replying to my own message... I installed these today. As noted, didn't take long. My only complaint is once these are on, the factory hose and cooling tube mounts no longer fit. I ended up using a small tywrap on the driver's side and a couple through the spare hole on the passenger side for...
  17. MMR Engine Block / Bellhousing Braces for Shelby GT350/R 5.2

I ordered this kit. Enough mechanical experience in the good old oil field that it seemed reasonable to me. Put the car up on the lift and.... I guess I don't need them! My 2020 GT350R LR217 already has the block modified, as far as I can tell. See the attached pics. I'll donate my kit to my...
  18. On a positive note...

Yup. That's what we all saw for engine oil temperatures; just slightly over 270. For me, having run in vintage racing for some years, anything below 300F is good.
