My '16 had been randomly doing that too, and I think at least in my case, it's when I slightly resist the seat's forward motion.
Usually after I hit they button to start it up, I've got my feet on the floor pushing myself back against the seat back to buckle up, it take surprisingly little...
Nah man this is a common topic on every car forum I've ever been on. Some guys don't want to take it to the dealer and some guys do, for a variety of reasons.
You're definitely not the first guy to say he'd never take his special car to the dealer for anything, and I'm definitely not the first...
Not every post that doesn't agree with yours in a thread asking for opinions is a "reply to you". ;)
Judge away. I won't even notice from my Ivory Tower.
Right, and nobody ever has any trouble getting warranty work covered, do they?
No, I'm saying that a relationship can't hurt, and can only increase your chances of getting anything covered by your warranty, which deserves to be covered.
I'm not trying to convince you of anything, and...
The problem with fixing everything yourself that you can, is then when you get to 2 years in and your transmission is grinding, the dealer has never seen you before, has no relationship to base any "good will" on, and if they get push-back from Ford they have no service history or knowledge to...
Mine does it too.
I got the road force balancing which did not help. The car is smooth as glass at 80 mph, so I just drive 80 whenever I can, until someone finds a fix.
Dude you could do that yourself for less than $10 with a bottle of 3M 03900 fine rubbing compound from WalMart and a scrap piece of soft cotton, and you'd have 95% of the bottle left over for the next time a leaf lands on your car or whatever. ;)
Just saying, for something that minor I'd rather...
I haven't ordered a car, but yeah... Tell them what you want and offer them invoice. If they won't play ball, tell them you'll go to another dealer and walk out. They'll be calling you shortly.
Absolutely, there are variants of summer tires which do better in cold, or rain, etc. than others. Think of it like the 4 seasons in a square, and you pick a point somewhere... Is it closer to cold, or closer to summer, or closer to snow etc. No summer tire will work very well in freezing...
That's a good point. Raising the limits of the car only really matters if you are competing against other people, rather than yourself.
I agree about the summer tires. I had a GTPP base and decided to move to a non-PP Premium since I didn't think the PP was stiff enough and I wanted the...
When you let off, use caution. If the car is getting sideways and loses traction at a higher RPM then the engine braking from letting off is just like ripping up on the e-brake and we all know what that does, right? That's what I see happening in most of the "cars and coffee" type accidents...
Probably different; mine starts at about 55 and stays until around 75+.
Smooth as glass at 80.
I have 3.35 gears and still feel it if I shift to 5th. The vibration changes slightly depending on how much I'm on the gas, or if I push the clutch in.
I would think as a general rule that...
They did fix my window that was catching. He said they "road force balanced" the tires/wheels. That of course did not really fix the vibration, though the car does feel just a bit smoother now I suppose.
I'm sure my '15 PP GT did this too. Seems like they all do and some people just don't...
They say they rebalanced my tires.
They also told me it's "normal" to have the throwout bearing chatter that I have, which happens at like 1000 RPM if the car is good and warmed up... Even though my old one (also an MT-82) didn't do it.
So, I totally expect they have not fixed the issue with...
Yeah I voted "no" but having subsequently spent several more hours in the car, I believe mine has this issue, 1100 miles but it's been doing it since it was new.
I noticed it on the test drive. Salesman says it has "been sitting" so I figure it's got a flat-spotted tire. I aired the tires up...
The car will have no trouble keeping up with traffic with any rearend ratio; but the gas pedal is actually very proportional, not like a lot of cars you might drive where the first 1/4" of gas pedal is 50% of the available power.
I leave mine on Sport mode 100% of the time, it feels more...
