As stated, all 2017s have coolers, so you should be ok. That supplement may just be a carryover. If you can't tell by looking under the car, the tech cars had that very thin rear spoiler you can look up pictures of to see (unless your spoiler was replaced I suppose).

I really doubt the positive effect will be much if OP wins. The only cases that will apply are cars with "racing" paraphernalia on them that have a ESP covered failure. Had they not been on OP's car, the transmission would have been covered. So the insurance company is out a few thousand bucks...

Understand a small but not insignificant percentage of Gen 1s failed with same scarring/ring failure including mine and if I recall correctly my cylinders were 4,5, and 8. Thought they fixed it with the Gen 2s. Hope for the best.
