The dealer has been pretty darn good throughout all of this, but I will have to see what happens when I pick the car up tomorrow. Ford actually ponied up a car payment for me, so I have been very happy with them as well. My only complaint is the car itself.
As far as the tires go, we put on...
Well, I get the car back by Thursday, but it won't have new parts in it. Ring and pinion are back ordered so they are going to put it back together and I will drive it until the parts get here. Car has been out of service for 3 weeks of the four months I have owned it and I am just about done...
Update on mine. They finally hooked up a vibration analyzer and confirmed that it was driveline related. They pulled the diff apart and measured everything, but it all cam back good. It has now been bumped to Ford to see what they want to do next. Small progress is still progress I guess.
The sad thing about this is I LOVE driving this car. It is, without a doubt, one of the most enjoyable cars I have ever owned, but Ford really needs to fix this issue soon. I actually went and looked at scat pack Challenger the other day and came very close to taking the loss on my car and...
It sounds like Juben is the only one that has got an actual fix, so maybe that will trickle down to the rest of us.
icarumba, have you talked to your dealer about replacing the differential? If so, what was their response?
Right there with you. My dealer wants to discuss with corporate and get an FSE out to take a look at mine. Not worried about it yet, but it is not a huge step to go from supportive dealer to uncooperative, so keeping my fingers crossed. I am never going to buy a first year car again. I...
They have already pulled an entirely new set of wheels/tires off of another car and it made no difference at all. They also performed a road force balance with similar results. I have the PP wheels on mine. The good news is that I have new radiator fans because mine squeaked when shutting...
Well, just got the car back from an extended stay with the dealer and the new driveshaft did nothing for my vibration. I will start talking with them again on Monday to see if there is going to be a next step and I am hoping that the outstanding service that I have received so far continues.
They still have my car for a couple of other things they needed to look at, so it will be early next week before I get her back. I have new seatback cushions on the way because they were not cooling very well, the exhaust leak should get fixed this time and the body shop is taking care of the...
Well, mine is back in for the vibration and a couple of other things. Drive shaft came in so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Pretty happy with the dealer/Ford at this point just because of the way they are treating me. Yeah, the car has some issues, but overall the car is very nice and as...
Actually this car is pretty close to that and I love it overall, but I just want a slightly softer ride for the crap ass roads around here and the occasional road trip.
My ideal car would be the Ford Falcon with this motor, but we will never see that.
Damn, why didn't I think about that? That V8 rear drive Camry is da bomb!!!
Some of us like a faster car that is comfortable every day as well. What you consider comfortable does not fit all people.
I love everything about the package except the ride. I need to find a regular GT owner who wants to swap suspension. It isn't SUPER stiff, but I don't track my car and would prefer a slightly softer ride daily.
